In Memoriam


Allen Weaver, 74, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday morning at 12:30 am at AHC of Dyersburg  Born December 9, 1944 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Bryant Weaver and the late Ethel Bass Weaver. He was retired from Colonial Rubber and a charter member of Holy Hills Baptist Church. After his retirement, Mr. Allen began his second career at Curry Funeral Home on April 24, 2007. His love for his work at Curry Funeral Home and the families we served, showed by his dedication in doing all he could which included anything from washing cars to working funeral services. Mr. Allen was such a kind hearted person and was the epitome of a true southern gentleman. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved fiercely. This world is a little bit dimmer without him in it. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Weaver; his daughter, Pam Hearod of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Jeremy Hearod, Amber Hearod, Alicia Hearod; and two great-grandchildren; Drake Allen Hearod and Atticus Seals. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers Bill Weaver, Junior Weaver, Gilbert Weaver, Jerry Weaver, Jewel Weaver and five sisters, Opal West, Inez Holland, Linnie Holland, Ann Weaver and Dorothy Brawley. The family requests memorials be directed to LeBonheur Children’s Research Hospital, 51 N Dunlap St #100, Memphis, TN 38105.
