Pete Archuleta, age 81 passed away on April 16, 2011. He was born on January 18, 1930 in La Jara, CO to Sara and Geronimo Archuleta. Raised on the family farm until he joined the United States Army in 1948. He served in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Tillie Martinez in 1952 and raised three children. Pete owned and operated an upholstery business. He enjoyed the outdoors, horses, playing cards and being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tillie Archuleta, daughters Barbara Archuleta (David Anderson) and Karen (Kevin) Phillips; 5 grandchildren Sunshine Anderson, Monique Anderson, Alicia Archuleta, Jordan Phillips and Keisha Phillips; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters. Pete also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Ernest Archuleta, his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, April 25, 2011 from 4:00- 8:00 pm at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, Farmersville, CA. The Rosary will be prayed on Monday, April 25, 2011, 7:00pm at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marys Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 9:00am. Burial will be at Bakersfield National Cemetery, Arvin, CA at 1:15pm.
