Lorene Amanda Ayers

Lorene Amanda Ayers was born July 24, 1924 in Visalia, California to James and Jewell Waugh. She died June 6, 2013 in Gulfport Mississippi. Lorene attended schools in Visalia, California graduating from Visalia Union High School and going on to attend Visalia Junior College. During the war years Lorene worked for the Visalia Rationing Board which later evolved into the California Department of Motor Vehicle. Lorene married her sweetheart John P. Ayers in Santa Ana, California on October 24, 1942. After the War they returned to Visalia where all 3 of their children were born. In 1952 the family moved to Stockton, California where Lorene was active in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and after Johns death in 1974 the Stockton Singles Club. Lorene was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, her son John Ayers, Jr and daughter Cindy Jo. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Jeannerett of Gulfport, Mississippi, her sister Irene Heiber of Visalia, California, granddaughters Suzanne Ayers of Texas, Sarah Dominquez and Beth Chu both of California, and grandson Scott Jeannerett of Mississippi, 3 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters and 2 great great granddaughters Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 19, 2013; 10:00 am at the Visalia Cemetery.
