Mona Lou Forrester

Our Mom, Mona Lou Piedmonte Forrester passed away on May 30th, 2014 at the age of 84. Mona was born on November 25th 1929 to Pauline and Leo Piedmonte in Santa Cruz, California. She attended Holy Cross Catholic School and met our dad, Lloyd Thomas Forrester shortly after graduating. Mom and Dad married in 1947 and began starting their family of 6 children (5 boys and a girl). Mom had spent the last few years in Westgate Gardens where she had come to love all of the staff there. Our brother, Jeff, visited with mom every day and made sure she always had everything she needed. Thank you Jeff for all you did! Mom had the most important occupation a woman could ever have in their entire life. She raised 6 children making many sacrifices along the way and instilling values in each of us that made us who we are today. She loved taking family vacations with all, cooking big Italian dinners, watching scary movies and simply taking care of her family. She was always there for us when we were sick, had a problem and needed to vent or to celebrate with anyone of us when we had an accomplishment in our own lives. She had her own way of showing her disapproval when we would do or say something she did not approve of and boy the guilt we would feel from words unspoken were ones we usually could not bear. As large as our family was, there was usually never a dull moment. Mom was preceded in death by dad, Lloyd Forrester; sons Jimmy and Jon Forrester; daughter in law, Cheryl Forrester; sisters Laura May and Leah and her beloved dog Sugar. Mona is survived by sons, Jeff Forrester and Bill Forrester; daughter Tricia Kreiss (Tim); granddaughter Stephanie Rivas (Steve), granddaughter, Bryn Kreiss, grandson, Brandon Kreiss and great grandkids Jesse Valerio, David Rivas and Samantha Rivas. Words cannot express how much we are going to miss our mom but we know that the day will come when we will be with her again. So this is just good bye for now and we will see you soon Momma. Services will be private and a lunch in our moms honor will be held at a later date to be announced.
