Annie Cardilla Norton

Annie Cardilla Newsom Norton age 83, passed away on December 11, 2014 surrounded by her family in Visalia, CA. Annie was born on January 25, 1931 in Millcreek, OK.to her parents Gilbert and Laner Newsom. She had 7 siblings Joe, Gilbert, James, Ruth, Wanda, Christine and Farrell. Her family came from Oklahoma out West to California where they eventually settled in Riverdale, CA. She married Gerald Haskell Norton on May 19, 1951. They had 3 children. Terry Gail, Gerald Brooks and Gregory Lee. She was widowed on December 10, 1962. In 1970 she had another daughter Patricia Ann, and in 1971 Susan Ellen. Now her family was complete or so she thought. In 1976 Annie became a Grandmother. She would not be called Grandma, but was given the name Mamo, and she wore it proudly !She had a total of 18 grandchildren. Melissa, Becky, J.W.,Jesse, Clayton, Samantha, Abel, Natalie, Gayle,Haskel, Gregory, Lil Anne, Koreena, Keera, Terry, Kari, Kristi and Trinity, But it didn't stop there 13 great- grandchildren would come ! Jacob, Grayson, John Wesley, Jaiden, Chance, Abel, Mason, Briana, Taylor, Ariyah, Jobie, Caeden and Aiden. She loved each and every one of them. She had a way of making each of them know they were her favorite ! She loved them all dearly, and was proud of every one of them.Most of them would be given their first bath by her. She did her best to show up at all school awards, plays,dances, graduations and other important dates. Annie was preceded in death by her father in 1979, and her mother in 1995, her sister Wanda in 2002, grandson Clayton in 2003, sister Farrell in 2012, and her brother James in 2014. She is survived Terry Gail Britt, Gerald Brooks and Marisela Norton, Gregory Lee and Yolie Norton, Patricia Ann and Mark Dickerson, Susan Ellen and Kennon Keoseyan, and son in law John Moore. She is also survived by her brother, Joe and Leslie Newsom, Gilbert and Betty Newsom, sisters Ruth and Coy Moore, and Christine Moody. She is now resting in her Lords arms. The family would like to invite you all to a reception at the PPAV Hall at 820 E Main Street, Visalia after the services have concluded at the cemetery.
