Regina Jacquez Lujan

March 13, 1981 — May 4, 2015

Regina Jacquez Lujan, at the age of 34, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2015 in Visalia, California. Regina was born on March 13, 1981, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She attended Hill Rise Elementary, Sierra Jr. High, and Onate High School all in Las Cruces. But it was Redwood High School where she graduated in 1999. With much hard work and dedication, Regina graduated from Fresno Pacific University in 2012. It was there where she received her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. With that, Regina worked as a preschool teacher in both Visalia and Hanford. In December 2012, Regina was over the moon when her second baby, Jayden, came into the world. The excitement would be short lived. Only two months later, after multiple misdiagnoses, Regina did not learn about her cancer until she was at stage four. Her love for her two boys and faith kept her fighting and determined not to surrender. Her fight against breast cancer was highlighted on KSEE 24's Special Report -The Fight Against Cancer-"Young Warriors" Waging War on Cancer. Regina was a generous, loving, and beautiful person who loved her friends and family. She was the kind of person who could make friends with just about anybody. Regina was always donating her clothes and time to those in need. Regina would put others before herself. She enjoyed her big family and loved a good family get-together on Sunday. She also had a passion for education. She would talk about the importance of education and be the first person to tell you to, "Go to school!" Regina loved life and the people in it. Above all though, Regina's true pride and joy was being a mother to her two boys, Damian, 15, and Jayden, 2. She was very proud of her oldest son, Damian as he excelled in both academics and athletics. Regina loved watching Damian play Redwood football and basketball. She would attend every one of his games, both home and away. She was also very proud of her youngest son, Jayden, and the big heart he had for such a little boy. Her determination, love and strength will continue to shine through in both her boys. Damian and Jayden were the true loves of her life. Regina is survived by her two sons, Damian Serrano and Jayden Lujan, mother, Rebecca Quintana of Visalia, father, Bobby Lujan of Las Cruces, step father, Raymond Quintana of Visalia, brother, Anthony Lujan of Las Cruces, niece and nephews, Brianna, Isaac, and Aiden Lujan of Las Cruces, grandmothers, Emma Jacquez of Seville and Mary Lou Medina of Las Cruces, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved very much. Regina is preceded in death by her two grandfathers, Lalo Jacquez of Seville and Ismael Lujan of Las Cruces. We would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Robert Havard and his staff at Sequoia Regional Cancer Center for all their hard work and tremendous care. Another thank you to chemotherapy nurse, Senovia Banuelos, for the loving care and thoughtfulness she continuously showed Regina throughout her battle. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made for the future education of her two boys, Damian and Jayden. A Go Fund Me account has been set up and can be found at: http:///www.gofundme.com/tu98zs At this time, Regina's family is in the process of honoring her final wishes. A date for the celebration of Regina's beautiful life is currently pending.
