Marilyn Mc Gruther

February 1, 1939 — May 23, 2015

Marilyn June McGruther (Merry) passed away 5/23/15 at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, CA surrounded by her family after a short illness. Merry was born 2/1/39 in Everett, WA, she graduated from Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, CA She is survived by her children Shirley Fussell of Porterville, CA, Laura Doney and son in law David Doney of Nipomo, CA, Brad Cantley of Simi Valley, CA and her step daughters Cindy Hindman of Lancaster, CA, Virginia Lee of Muskegon, MI and Tina Larsen of Muskegon, MI, her grandchildren Leah Powers of Kirkland, WA, Tiffany Childers of Simi Valley, CA, Robert Fox of Simi Valley, CA and Nicholas Doney of Nipomo, CA, great grandchildren Hailey Childers, Jake Childers and Jonathan Childers her sister Gae Coulston of Coronado, CA and her brother Charles Glidewell of Greenville, IN, sister in laws Donna Glidewell and Alberta Glidewell ,nieces Mary Jo ,Delinda, Cathy and Nadine nephews Alain, Eric She will be looking down on us with her husband George McGruther, her brothers Bradley Eller, David Glidewell, her parents June Eller and Brad Eller, nephew David Gerald Glidewell Merry was an avid bowler in the 70's and 80's where she held the highest average in Ventura County, She also coached all the junior leagues @ Simi Bowl. She loved playing soccer, she played goalie, and her favorite team was Manchester United, Merry worked for NDS in Lindsay,CA for 8 years, she left a lasting impression with her co-workers they still ask about Merry (mom) to this day. Merry enjoyed walking her dog Corky every day she was called the dog whisper around the neighborhood, giving biscuits to all her dog friends along the way. She was an extremely talented artist could pretty much draw anything. She loved spending time @ the Porterville workshop in Porterville, CA where her daughter attends. Merry enjoyed reading her Harlequin novels her favorite author was Betty Neels. Phantom of the Opera was her all-time favorite movie/play, and especially Gerard Butler. Merry was more than just a daughter, sister, mom, grandma, wife and friend, she was truly a diamond in the dust. Selfless, feisty, a fighter, everyone was special to her and she was something special to everyone that knew her. Her greatest accomplishment's was being a loving mother and grandmother. Memorial services will be held 6/26/15 @ 2pm @ Hadley-Marcom in Visalia, CA
