Mrs Anne Eleanor Deimler

d. November 2, 2015

Anne Eleanor Deimler March 13, 1921 – November 2, 2015 Visalia Anne Deimler passed away on November 2, 2015 in Visalia at the age of 94. Anne was born in Highspire, PA on March 13, 1921. She grew up in Pennsylvania, and discovered sports at an early age. She was a star athlete and letter-winner in basketball at Highspire HS, in an age when women in sports were the exception rather than the rule. When WWII broke out she contributed to the war effort doing aircraft instrument repair at Olmstea Air Force Base in Middletown, PA. Late in the war she met a young Marine, Luther Deimler, home on leave from action in the Pacific, and they were eventually married. Anne then dedicated her time to raising two sons, James and Richard. After they were raised, she became an accountant at the Hotel Hershey, in Hershey, PA, eventually retiring from there after over 20 years of service. Anne and her husband Luther relocated to Visalia late in life to be closer to the family. Anne’s love of sports – all sports – remained with her to the end. She loved the NBA and could give you the latest standings on any and all of the teams. It was the same with the NFL and NASCAR. If it was competitive, she was there, cheering on her favorites. She also loved being outdoors, and could often be found taking her daily walk. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Luther and her son Richard. She is survived by her son James, a grandson Jake, and two great grandchildren. Services will be private. Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, Visalia is honored to be serving the Deimler Family.
