Dawna Felix

Dawna was born in Artesian South Dakota to Harvey and Gertrude Threadgold. She always told everyone that she was named Dawna because she was born at sunrise on the 17th of July. She grew up on the family farm with her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers in Artesian where they lived and attended schools. She later met the love of her life, Ray Felix, at the Fedora high school in South Dakota and they were married soon after she completed school on October 30, 1949.Together they had 2 children, Dan Felix and Dee Ann Felix as they continued to farm until 1955 when they moved to California for Ray to pursue his career in the Electrical construction trades. Dawna  was a homemaker and stayed very active in the church singing as well as playing the piano and organ. Dawna loved to sing and never missed the opportunity to sing. They moved from the Southern California area in 1975 to Visalia where Ray continued his career. They were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Visalia. Ray and Dawna enjoyed 58 happy years together beforeRays passing in 2007. Dawna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, and her son Dan as well as 3 sisters and 1 brother. Dawna is survived by her Daughter Dee Ann (Felix) Mc Nabb and her husband John of Farmersville, CA, her brother Harlan  and Audry Felix of Minnesota, her Grandaughters and families Heather and Edward Vails of Exeter  and Tamara and Jason Hackley of Visalia, CA> She is also survived by 3 Great Gransons Harley and Evan Vails and Chase Hackley, her sisters-in-law Alice Ballweig of Visalia and Trudy Felix of SouthDakota. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, Services will be private and held at a later date. She will be inurned at Visalia District Cemetery along side her husband Ray.
