Bonnevieve Elaine Stahl was born October 12, 1942 to LeRoy & Doris Bergman. She attended Clay Elementary School through the eighth grade and then Kingsburg High School, graduating in the class of 1959. She met the love of her life, Clifford Stahl of Dinuba, in 1959 and they were married on June 29, 1963.
Bonnie graduated from Fresno State University in 1963, with a degree in Primary Education. After teaching for four years, she became a full-time housewife, accomplishing her highest calling of raising her three sons—Jeffrey, Bradley, and Steven.
Bonnie worked for over 20 years as the Nursery Coordinator for First Baptist (GateWay) Church, Visalia. She saw the church nursery as her ministry and took pride in setting young families at ease knowing their children would be cared for and loved.
Bonnie was raised on a farm in Kingsburg by Christian parents who modeled trusting in Jesus Christ. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and committed to sharing Him with family, friends, and neighbors. She grew up attending Kingsburg Colony Covenant Church and, after marrying Cliff, the two were active members until moving to Visalia to raise a family. Soon after, they became members of Visalia First Baptist. Bonnie was a proud mother who saw her three boys go into pastoral ministry and the teaching profession, just like their parents.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy Bergman & Doris Bergman (Jacobsen), step-father, Wilmer Jacobsen, and her brother’s wife, Judy Bergman. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Clifford, their three sons Jeff, Brad (Carie), and Steven (Sarah), and brother, Ron Bergman (Karen). Bonnie loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her 10 grandchildren-Michaela (Hunter), Payton, Kendall, Brianna (Dalton), Caleb, Emma (Preston), Megan, Kate, Zack, Addie, and great-granddaughter Arabella. Some highlights of time spent with family included trips to the East Coast, Hawaii, Aptos, Lake Tahoe, and best of all, time spent in their home and backyard hosting family gatherings, neighborhood kid's Backyard Bible Clubs, Small Group Bible Studies, and numerous volleyball & wiffleball games. She never failed to see that her grandkids, family, friends, and neighbors were loved and cared for, and deeply cared about their relationship with Christ.
Many would attest to Bonnie’s gift of hospitality, infectious laugh and smile that warmed a room and set people at ease. She was a friend and joy to all who knew her. There is no doubt when Bonnie stepped into heaven on September 5, 2024, Jesus said to her, “Well done, good, and faithful servant.”
