Charles “Chuck” Raymond Woupio was born on July 10, 1941, in Montebello, California. On November 24, 2021, he went to heaven to be with the Lord. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Karl Raymond and Clemmie Woupio; his brother, Karl Woupio; and his granddaughter, Shalynn Peace. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharlene Woupio; his daughters, Sherene Montes, Shawna Rodriguez, and Shandee Bayne; his grandchildren, Brett, Alyssa, Vanessa, Jordan, Drew, Journey, Jayci, Rayah, and Kyrie; and his great grandchildren, Rayleigh and Skye. Chuck attended and graduated from Sierra High School and Fresno State University. He met his best friend in life, Sharlene, in Bass Lake, CA, and they were married on February 19, 1966. The family moved to Visalia, CA, where he became the Recreation Supervisor for the City of Visalia Recreation Department. After 37 years of service, he retired in 2001. He was a faithful member of GateWay Church where he was a church chaplain, Bible study leader, and a loyal member of the Gideons International Ministry. He was a devoted Christian and his love for the Lord was seen daily by all who knew him. Chuck loved being a grandpa, and nothing thrilled him more than attending his grandchildren’s sports and school activities. He enjoyed the little things in life; feeding the birds in his backyard, traveling with his family, and watching the Yankees beat the Dodgers. Chuck went peacefully home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2021, surrounded by his family. Chuck would often say, “Life is short and time flies by.” It was important that he lived his life as an example of God’s love in hope that it would lead others to the Lord. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at GateWay Church, 1100 S. Sowell St., Visalia, CA.
