Gloria Jean Romero, 78, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 19, 2024 in Visalia, California. Born on March 16, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Jose and Delfina Gutierrez.
On February 18, 1968, she married the love of her life, Felix Lopez Romero. Gloria always dreamed of having a large family and she inspired Felix to share that dream. Together, they were blessed with six children and Gloria dedicated her life to nurturing her family. She embodied the true essence of a wife and mother, always giving her love and support to those around her. Whether she was offering a listening ear, comforting someone in need or sharing her wisdom, Gloria had a special gift for forming sincere relationships with anyone who needed her.
You could always find Gloria in one of a few places: the softball or soccer fields cheering on her loved ones, at home in her kitchen or tending to her garden, or at church praying for her family. As a devout Catholic, she prayed the rosary every night as her faith was a guiding light in her life. Although she was just 5’2”, Gloria was a fierce protector, always first to defend anyone in need–especially her family. She was a beautiful soul, inside and out and took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always eager to share her love and encouragement.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Felix Lopez Romero; her six children, Anthony, Mario, Carlos, Ramona, Danielle, and Bianca; her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Briana, Cassandra, Salvador, Steven, Livonie, Kiera, Daisy, and Mila; her great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Jayden, Caeden, Nazarieth, Ariya, Scarlet, and Zoe; her step-grandchildren, Shalome, Brian, Nicole, Tyler, Jaxon, Ryker, and Kolton; and her great-step-grandchildren, Amore and Maddox.
Gloria’s legacy of love, faith and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
