James “Jim” Fletcher, 82, of Visalia, California, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. Born on February 28, 1942, in Inglewood, California, Jim lived a life filled with love, hard work, and cherished moments with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Fletcher; his children, Chris Fletcher (Kirsten), Curtis Fletcher (Angela), and Liana Long (Chad); as well as seven grandchildren: Chelsea Fletcher, Trevor Fletcher, Kyle Fletcher, Morgan Himmelman, Hailey Fletcher, Cooper Long, and Kayli Long. Jim was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy in his later years.

Jim was passionate about gardening, taking long walks, and cheering on his grandchildren as they played sports. He was known for his quick wit, love of a good joke, and his friendly, easygoing nature that endeared him to everyone he met.

Jim began his career at Cal Electric before transitioning to Southern California Edison, where he dedicated many years of service. Even after his official retirement, his expertise and work ethic led him to contract with various electrical companies until he retired for good in 2011. In his earlier years, while raising his family in Moreno Valley, Jim found purpose in serving the community as a volunteer firefighter.

Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found joy in the simple things in life and took pride in his work and family. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
