Lucio Rodriguez Lopez

August 5, 1953 — December 2, 2020

Lucio Rodriguez Lopez was born in Tulare County on August 5th, 1953 and he went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2nd, 2020. He spent time in San Jose, Morgan Hill and he eventually settled in Gustine, CA. Lucio is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Loudres Lopez; his daughter, Virginia Irene “Birdie” Munoz and Sergio; son, Lucio Lopez Jr. and his wife, Corina; son, Isaac Lopez and his wife, Doreen. Lucio is also survived by his mother, Emma Rodriguez of Visalia; brothers Raul, Raymond and Louie of Visalia; brother Alfonso “Poncho” of Mexico; and sister Mary “Polla” of Visalia. Lucio is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Jessie Lopez; and grand-daughter, Love Mary Jessie Munoz. Although Lucio had many loved ones and friends, his pride and joy were his grandchildren who knew him as “Papa Baldy”. Papa Baldy’s grandchildren include: Faith Marie Rojas, Aizha Grace Lopez, Paris Alexandra Lopez, Isaac Preston Lopez Jr., Hope Layla Rojas, Boston Royale Lopez, Justice Christine Asusena Lopez, Romeo Lopez and Genesis Alfreda Emma Lopez. As a young adult/father Lucio faced struggles that took him away from his family. In 1986, with the help of his friend and future brother in law Hector, he joined the Agape, a probationary/outreach home that would change his life forever. On October 18th, 1987 he dedicated his life to God, was baptized in Jesus name and took his first step towards his true purpose in life…spreading the Gospel! Lucio’s love for God carried over to his love for people and anyone he met. He never wasted an opportunity to share God’s word, God’s love, how God miraculously changed his life and how God could do the same for them. On May 25th, 1991 he married the love his life, Mary and the rest is history. A changed man Lucio restored his relationship with family, friends and most importantly his children. Lucio enjoyed reading his bible, sharing God’s word, preaching bible studies, leading worship service, spending time with his family, Indianapolis Colts football and building a home with Mary. He was a hard worker and he’d often return home from work (Homesite Services - 12 years) to a waiting Mary who’d have a list of honey-do items waiting for him. He didn’t mind, he adored Mary and did whatever he could to make her happy. Together with Mary he opened their home to many, which includes being foster parents for 20+ years and taking care of his big brother Raul. Until his last breath he remained close to his babies Alize, Daniella and Gabby who also knew him as Dad. Lucio’s departure leaves a great void in the hearts of many and although he’s gone home to be with his Savior his memories will live on forever through his family and friends as a great Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Visitation and service will be held on Monday, December 14th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, 1700 West Caldwell Ave. Visalia, CA and his burial will follow at 12 p.m. at Visalia Cemetery. Any arrangements can be sent to Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel.
