Marlene Singleton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Visalia, CA on October 20, 2021. Marlene was born on June 23, 1941 in Stockton, CA to her parents Lawrence and Beulah Wright and soon after moved to Missouri. Her family moved back to California when she was 10 years old and she graduated from Porterville High School in 1959. Marlene met Leon, her husband of 60 years, at church in 1959 and they were married on November 24, 1961. She resided in Visalia, CA for the past 44 years. Marlene loved sharing her faith in Jesus with others and had a special gift of encouraging everyone she came into contact with. She was also a talented artist and has painted dozens of beautiful oil paintings. She loved spending time in Morro Bay near the ocean. Most of all, Marlene’s greatest earthly joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mom and grandma. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Beulah Wright. She will be deeply missed by her husband Leon Singleton; her sons Rodney and his wife Susan, Darrin and his wife Katy; her grandchildren Jacob and his wife Jess, Taylor, Luke, Samuel and Sarah; her siblings Marcia Ferrier and her husband Ray, Kendall Wright and his wife Martha, and many nieces and nephews. The Singleton family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Bristol Hospice and Peaceful Valley Home Care for their loving care of Marlene in her final days. Services have been entrusted to Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Visalia Cemetery on Friday October 29 at 10:30am.
