Mattie Pauline Derrick - Born in Alabama in 1924. Passed away peacefully in her home in Placerville on April 17th at the age of 97 with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her loving husband George Derrick, her mother Annie Mae Jones and her two sisters Frances Johnson and Imogene Hayes. Survived by her daughter Carolyn Pryor of Placerville. Three granddaughters Kim Noble, Kristi Castro and Kalyn Castro. Six Great Grandchildren Derek Noble, Carter Kash, Daniel Ramirez, Breanna Castro-Enke, Mariah Castro and Leonard Castro and great great grandson Carden Noble. Pauline was born in Alabama and was raised there before moving to Oklahoma with her family. There she met her and married her husband George in 1941. In 1943 they moved to California after having their daughter Carolyn who was just a baby. She worked as a cannery worker and farmer for many years. After retiring in her late forties, she devoted all her time to her husband, daughter and her grandchildren. George and Pauline were married for 51 years until his passing in 1993. Pauline loved to dance and sing to country music. She loved making people laugh, always telling jokes. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She was a person everyone loved to be around. She just made your day brighter. We were blessed to have her in our lives. Visitation will be held at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel of Farmersville on April 30, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Graveside services will be held April 30, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Exeter District Cemetery.
