Olivia Carrillo was born in 1937, in Jerez Zacatecas, Mexico where she met and married the love of her life, Ines Rodarte. Ines & Olivia Carrillo Rodarte moved to Texas in 1956 before moving to Farmersville, CA in June 5, 1957. Olivia worked as a farm laborer for over 50 years and worked throughout the San Joaquin Valley, ultimately retiring from Philip Farms. Olivia’s world centered around her family and friends, and she enjoyed helping others whenever she could. She loved spending time with old friends at the local flea markets and enjoying the day with them. Olivia had a passion for authentic Zacatecas cuisine, which she shared with all of her family and friends. She was known for her homemade flour tortillas which were so big, soft and delicious, no store-bought tortillas could compare. She was also known for her strong will, her sense of humor, a green thumb, and an abiding love for family and God.
Olivia is survived by her sons Abel Rodarte and Elpidio Rodarte, her brother Pedro Carrillo, sisters Ana Maria Avina and Margarita Carrillo Hernandez, and multiple nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Olivia is preceded in death by her husband Ines Rodarte and son Efren Rodarte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 25, 2024, 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Exeter. Interment will be at Exeter District Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, Visalia, CA.
