Richard “Rick” Uriarte Jr. passed away on September 23rd, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on December 23rd, 1957, to the late Richard Uriarte Sr. and Louise Leos Vasquez.
He is survived by his sister Connie Nino and brother Juan Vasquez Jr., and he is proceeded in death by his sister Margaret Vasquez and brother Abundio Uriarte.
Although Rick did not have any children of his own, he loved his nephews and his nieces to pieces.
Rick attend Redwood high school and as a teenager/ young adult he owned beautiful White 64’ Impala. He would cruise the streets of the North Side and enjoyed taking his nephews and nieces for rides.
Rick was employed for many years at the Tulare County Office of education as a Media Deliver. He also worked for the Visalia Emergency Aid and the Visalia convention center. Although he had several jobs throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed painting, and he later retired as a residential painter.
Rick enjoyed doing yard work and any kind of handyman work in his free time. He was willing to help his family and friends in any of these areas when needed.
Rick loved jazz music; he enjoyed trips to Catalina Island with his sister Connie to attend jazz festivals. He also enjoyed trips to Tachi Casino with Connie. They were not only siblings but best friends.
Rick’s favorite sports was tennis and playing handball with the fellas.
Rick always welcomed friends and family with so much love. Rick had the sweetest smile one we will never forget. We are confident he is rejoicing with not only our Lord and savior but also all his loved ones that passed before him.
A Graveside Service in Ricks memory will be held Monday October 14th at 10:00am at the Visalia Public Cemetery. A small reception will follow details still to come.
