Visalia, CA. - Robert “Bob” Remillard passed-away peacefully on February 24, 2022, with both of his sons (Scott and Rick) by his side. Born on May 22, 1943, in North Adams, MA, Bob was one of four kids and was the second born of three boys and one sister, born to parents Edgar and Beatrice (Vincellette) Remillard. For over 40 years, our father was committed to a life of duty and to the safety and protection of others. As an MP in the U.S. Army, he guarded top-ranking U.S Officers and political officials, during the Vietnam War. Once back on US soil, he continued his law enforcement career, while protecting the public and on the streets of Orange, Tulare and Kings Counties. At home, he built a wonderful life a life with his Wife Joan, of 49 years. During that time, they raised two spirited boys, where he spent much of his time with them, hunting, fishing and many hours supporting them in all their sports, like baseball, football basketball and soccer. Bob graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1961 and joined the Army for two tours. Upon his return to Visalia, he began working as Police Officer with the Visalia Police Dept., before moving to the cooler climates of Laguna Beach and later, Fountain Valley Police Departments. It was at FVPD, as a Motorcycle Officer and while riding parade detail and directing traffic…he was noticed by our Mother who stated.. "I want that one!". They were married shortly after, in 1971. After a few years living in Fountain Valley and Crestline, Ca., they decided to relocate to Visalia in 1977. This is where he continued his career with the Tulare County Sheriff's Dept, until his retirement from Tulare County in 1994. He then sunsetted his career in Kings County as a Fraud Investigator, for a few more years, until fully retiring. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Roger Remillard and his wife Joan Remillard. Surviving in addition, are his Brother Ernest Remillard and Sister Anne Ryan of Australia. Sons Scott and Rick Remillard and grandson Timothy Rocky Remillard. As well as loving family members from Sisco and Amezcua families…Jeannie Parenteau Sisco, Bob and Nancy Sisco, Steve, Karina, Allie and Jed Sisco. Sherry, Marcos, Danika and Samuel Amezcua. A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022at Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel 1700 W. Caldwell Ave Visalia, CA. 93277. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to Valley Children's Hospital.
